What should I do before my housekeeper arrives?
To make our cleaning services more efficient, we ask that you go on “clutter patrol”. This includes the pickup of clothing, toys, and other household items.

Substitute or Replacement Team Members: While we “try” our very best in keeping customers with a single regularly assigned housekeeper, please note that there is turn-around in housekeeping and our associates do occasionally get sick, encounter car trouble, get stuck in bad weather conditions (street flooding) and sometimes they just quit. You will occasionally, get a substitute team member. The upside of have a company is knowing that you will have another one of our qualified associates to service your home should any of the above situations occur with your assigned housekeeper. Crescent City Cleaning reserves the OPTION to send a substitute team member IF NECESSARY.

Introductions/Meet & Greet: Please keep all intros/instructions to 15 min. (or less). Any intros taking longer than .15 min. is added to your hourly bill.

Friday Appointments: F-R-I-D-A-Y is not only a **PRIME** spot, but is our busiest day of the week. We have customers who are on a waiting list to get on this day. Friday customers who continuously cancel will have to be moved to another day that is in less demand (Monday). Thanks for your understanding.

How long will it take to clean my home?
Every home is different. Size, condition, depth of cleaning and clutter will dictate the time it takes to clean your home. We recommend that you go on clutter patrol before our arrival. Most homes average 4 to 6 hrs. of cleaning time. Our “4-hr. min.” means that we have a minimum amount of time a customer must commit to. It does not mean that you can get your entire house cleaned in 4 hrs. Our “minimum” time means that we cannot send a team member across town for an hour or two of work. Small apartments generally take three hours.

What if my regular cleaning falls on a holiday?
About a week before the holiday, we will call to reschedule for a more convenient time when your regularly scheduled cleanings fall on a holiday.

Bathroom Cleaner: As many of our customers have HEALTH ISSUES and bathtubs/showers made of different materials, we ask that the customer provide tub/shower cleaners of their choice. The following is only a recommendation. It is up to you to choose/provide with you deem safe and effective for your home and family’s health:

  • Cleanser: Comet or Ajax
  • Soap Scum Remover:
    SPRAY Comet Bathroom Cleaner (this works in BOTH the tubs and toilets, eliminating the need for toilet bowl cleaner)
  • Scrub Free
    Tilex
    Kaboom
    Lime-A-Way (lime and hard water stains)

Or any other specialized cleaners you would like used throughout your home. We bring all other supplies needed; however, we also recommend that we use “your” vacuum cleaner. It is possible to transfer fleas from carpet from one home to another

What if we forget to clean something (WARRANTY)?
Crescent City Cleaning has a 24 hour warranty from the completion of the cleaning project. If a portion of your home was not properly cleaned, please call us within that timeframe and we would be more than happy to come out and re-clean the area in question at no additional charge. WE WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY WITH OUR WORK! Excluded: Rooms not completed due to time restrictions implemented by customer. If you limit us on time and you are calling us about that portion of the home that was not cleaned, unfortunately, those rooms are excluded because we did not have your authorized “additional time” to complete the job.

Do I have to be home during house cleanings?
Because the majority of our cleaning occurs Monday – Friday 8am to 5 pm, most of our customers are not home. You can leave a hidden key. Some customers give a key. The office keeps a copy of this key in case Elaine, our Field Supervisor, needs to fill in for your assigned housekeeper.

What happens if I need to reschedule my cleaning?
Please call the office within 48 hrs. of your scheduled appointment to cancel. Last minute cancellations are subject to a $40 cancellation fee. However, if you reschedule a “last-min.” appointment, the cancellation fee is waived. We want to be fair on all ends.
